Run= Beer?!?

Rocky Mountain Brew runs

People in Colorado love to be active.  And why wouldn't we?   We live in an amazing place.  Beautiful scenery:  snow capped peaks, lush forests, colorful deserts.  And perfect weather, I mean where else in the country can you go mountain biking and snowboarding in the same day?

Running seems to be many Coloradan's activity of choice.  There are over 70 running clubs in the state and multiple fun runs and competitive races to choose from every weekend of the year.

Colorado is also home to a culture of people who love a good beer.  We host over 20 (and counting beer festivals) across the state and over 140 craft breweries.

Pairing running and beer drinking isn't a new concept.  Yet up until now the jury has been out on the effects of drinking a beer post run.

There was an interesting article recently by the New York Times that highlights a local running club in Philly that embraces this social beer running culture and a also scientific study that shows that beer (about 2 cans)  is just as effective as water to recovery from exercise.   Read more HERE.

So there you go Colorado. If you needed just one more reason to justify that post run brew hopefully we've given you the ammo you need.

It's time to tie up the laces, raise your glasses and get ready for the 2014 Brew Runs!
